Payment Plans

Western Kentucky University offers manageable interest-free monthly payment plans through our partnership with Nelnet Campus Commerce.  Students and their parents/guardians have the option of choosing a semester payment plan for the current semester in which the student is enrolled.

Payment plans are not available for the winter or summer terms.

Nelnet does not have access to Western Kentucky University student account information.  When you contract to pay through Nelnet, they will set up the plan for any amount you request.  It is imperative for the student to carefully plan their budget for each semester, taking into consideration all educational expenses incurred and any estimated deductions (i.e. financial aid, scholarships, etc).  Please check your TopNet account periodically to make certain your payment plan budget covers all of your expenses.  You can adjust your payment plan budget at any time.  Instructions for adjusting your payment plan can be found here.  

Payment plans are available for a nominal enrollment fee and includes personal account service and automated account information 24 hours a day.

To enroll, log in to TopNet and select the Student Services tab, click on Pay Tuition and Fees and then select Pay Now. 

Automatic monthly payments from either a credit/debit card or checking/savings account are required.

• Students:  If someone is paying on your behalf, you MUST first set them up as an Authorized Payer.
• Once your profile is set up, you can enroll in a payment plan, make a payment, or set up an authorized payer who can create a plan for your balance.
• Authorized Payers:  If you are paying on behalf of the student, the student MUST set up their account first and then add you as an Authorized Payer.
  • If you have used Nelnet before, simply Sign In to manage your account here.
  • If you are new to Nelnet, click on the “Create a username & password” button to create an online account.

Fees: 
Non-refundable enrollment fee: $45 and is required with each enrollment each semester.  This fee must be included with the completed enrollment.

Returned payment fee: $25 and may result in cancellation of your plan

* Tuition and fees will reflect in TopNet mid-July for the fall semester and early November for the spring semester. Estimate your payment plan budget to get started and then adjust as needed once tuition and fees assess. (To view your student account, log in to TopNet, select Student Services, and then select View Account Summary.)
